Your first visit to the Chiropractor is perhaps the most important. There are many factors
to be considered and concerns to be addressed by both the doctor and the patient in order to form a trusting and beneficial
relationship. Below are some things that you should expect on your first visit.
- The first step is to fill out the proper paperwork if it has
not been completed before arrival. Please see the link below to the forms page where you can print out the
proper forms and speed your time through this process.
- Next a comprehensive
consultation will be performed in order to obtain a proper history of your health, current and past complaints, previous treatment
and expectations. Any previous lab tests, xrays, medical reports are helpful as is a list of current medications.
- After the consultation and providing that you are a candidate for Chiropractic care, a complete physical examination
will be performed. This is typically done with the patient in their normal attire, but certain complaints may warrant
gowning if the specific area needs to be examined.
- Following the examination,
additional testing may be required before aggressive treatment can begin. Treatment may or may not begin following the
examination, depending on the results and the need for additional screenings.
- The
followup visit will be scheduled for within one to two days at which time a report of findings will be performed where the
condition, test results, treatment plan and goals will be discussed.
